C of Red - Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups
Analyzing the best streaming options, schedule advantages, and advanced metrics in Week 5 of the Fantasy Hockey season.

FANTASY ROUNDUP HOCKEY DASHBOARD
Before I begin, I want to ask my readers a question: Do you want to play hard? Or do you want to play smart?
If your answer was both, you'd be correct. That's usually the best way to win, and it's exactly why we built the new Fantasy Roundup Hockey Dashboard.
Start with the Lineup tab. It helps you set your best lineup every night. If one of your guys goes down, it'll move him to IR and show you the best pickup for the open spot. From there, the Waivers tab ranks every available player for the week with the Light Nights, line assignments and powerplay deployment already built in. My picks are tagged too, so you can see who I like at a glance.
Next, head over to the Matchup tab for your odds against this week's opponent. There we offer the Optimize Matchup tool. This shows you the best streamers to help your team that week, and maximize your chances.
The Standings tab is where you'll see your projected stats and your odds of making the playoffs.
Click on any player's name in the NHL Dashboard and it will pull up their player card. This card is our custom design to make sure your players are always looking sharp. The cards include ratings, advanced stats ranked against that player's own position, and the lines and powerplay units they're skating on right now.
And now, for the best part. If you're sick of setting an alarm to beat your fellow Fantasy Hockey Managers to a player, the Automated Waiver Tool lets you schedule your claims ahead of time and makes them for you. The Queue All button in this article can line up four of my recommended picks for the overnight waiver run in one click. Follow a pick and we'll let you know when that player is available in your league. Every Tuesday we'll email you the picks that are still sitting on your waiver wire.
All you have to do is sign in to your Fantasy Roundup account - or sign up if you haven't already - and sync your Yahoo or ESPN league. There's a button here to log in and see which players are available. There will also be a button before every player's write-up to select him in the Fantasy Roundup Automated Waiver Tool and get to him before everyone else.
[Click here to open the Hockey Dashboard](/nhl-roundup?tab=home). If you're signed in, it'll take you straight to your overview. If you're not, it'll walk you through how everything works.
INTRODUCTION
Good morning, Fantasy Hockey World! I hope everyone is doing well on this fine Halloween weekend.
The Hellebuyck saga is finally over. Connor Hellebuyck is a New Jersey Devil as of yesterday afternoon, a little over a month after Winnipeg suspended him for not reporting to camp. The Jets got quite the quantity haul from the Devils.
Going back to Winnipeg for the gold medal-winning goaltender are Dawson Mercer, Nico Daws, Nick Bjugstad, 2026 12th overall pick Alexander Command, a 2029 second-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick. That's a lot of bodies for a goalie who hasn't played a game since April, but when you've been running Jake Allen and Nico Daws out there every night, I understand the urge. I'll have more on what this does to both creases in the Goalie Sidebar, because if you've been streaming Allen, you need to read it.
Now, a confession. Four of my picks and backups this week play for the Calgary Flames. Don't worry, I hate it too.
The Flames are 3-6-0 and their goaltending has been a horror show through the first four weeks, so I understand if you're skeptical. Hear me out. Calgary and Edmonton have the best schedule in the league in Week 5 with four games and three Light Nights each, and the Flames' powerplay is still running through two guys I've been begrudgingly writing about since September. We're diving deep into the C of Red. I've unfortunately got a Flame at every position for you, and each one comes with an alternative option from somewhere else in case your league mates have been reading along.
If you went through the Quick Picks already, then yes, you read the Defenceman pick right. Zayne's World, Part Three. Wayne, this party don't STOP.
As a Leafs fan, Monday night is going to be weird for me. Toronto is in Calgary and I'll be cheering on four Flames. If you've figured out how to do that without hating yourself, let me know in the comments.
Every stat in this article comes from each player's last five games, all situations, powered by my model and site Stacked Analytics at [stackedanalytics.app](https://stackedanalytics.app). I'll be opening the site for a public beta soon, and you can sign up for that now. Go take it for a spin, and get your email on the waiting list while you're there.
Alright, let's find out how many Florida Men showed up.
WEEK 4 ROUNDUP
WEEK 5 PREVIEW
Week 5 runs from Monday, October 26, 2026 to Sunday, November 1, 2026. There are 47 games in total, and the schedule swings hard from night to night.
Monday (3 games), Wednesday (4 games), Friday (3 games) and Sunday (5 games) are all Light Nights. That's 15 games across four nights. Tuesday (11 games), Thursday (11 games) and Saturday (10 games) are all heavy.
Saturday is Halloween, and the trick that night is that your bench will be stuffed like it ate all the candy before bed. To help with that, you can find some treats this week on the Light Nights.
On the heavy nights, most of your roster plays and somebody good sits on your bench; that's just the way it goes sometimes. Monday and Friday are the shallowest this week, with just six teams playing each night. Calgary is one of them on both nights.
Back-to-backs are everywhere this week, so watch out for some underrated goalie streams. Los Angeles opens with a Monday-Tuesday. New Jersey and Philadelphia both go Tuesday-Wednesday. Washington plays Wednesday-Thursday and Winnipeg goes Thursday-Friday. Calgary plays Friday-Saturday, then Edmonton and Ottawa close the week with a Saturday-Sunday. Expect backups on the second half of most of those.
Yahoo rostered percentages are still moving. All the percentages in this article were pulled on October 23, 2026, so double-check them before you make your claims. A couple of my picks are sitting right under the 40% line.
SECTION INTRODUCTION
Included at the end of this article is a legend which has definitions for several advanced statistics I'll be using to evaluate players, and any other fantasy hockey-specific terms or jargon I may use.
Most Yahoo leagues allow four player adds per week. The players you can pick up with these adds are generally called "streamers". In this article I'll be outlining my five favourite streamer players for the week. One forward, one defenceman, one goalie, one "banger", and one deeper league target.
The first section is headlined "SUPER SCHEDULES", where I'm going to list all the NHL teams with a preferable schedule.
In the second section called "WAIVER WHIPLASH", I'll list my favourite Forward, Defenceman, and Goalie under 40% rostered in the standard Yahoo Head-to-Head (HTH) format.
The third section I've labelled "BANGER BEASTS". This will highlight my favourite player overall for those managers in banger formats, which have additional stats: Blocks (BLK), and Penalties in Minutes (PIM), combined with Hits (HIT).
The final section is entitled "DEEPER DARLINGS", where I'll identify an underrated player rostered under 10%, for managers in leagues with 12 teams or more (also called deep leagues).
As always, every advanced stat in this article is powered by Stacked Analytics. The stats are rates per 60 minutes, and each player is ranked against their own position, so the stats can be compared apples to apples. Every stat card and every number in the write-ups comes from each player's last five games, all situations.
Line and powerplay deployment comes from each team's most recent game, along with the beat reporters' practice and warmup reports since.
SUPER SCHEDULES
Here's who plays on each Light Night:
- MON (3 games) - Calgary, Detroit, Edmonton, Los Angeles, NY Rangers, Toronto
- WED (4 games) - Calgary, Colorado, Edmonton, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Seattle, Toronto, Washington
- FRI (3 games) - Calgary, Florida, New Jersey, Seattle, Vegas, Winnipeg
- SUN (5 games) - Anaheim, Carolina, Edmonton, Minnesota, NY Rangers, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Utah, Washington, Winnipeg
My plan this week is looking like this. A Flames player covers Monday, Wednesday and Friday. An Oilers player covers Monday, Wednesday and Sunday. One of each and you've got all four Light Nights with two moves, plus a Saturday game from each of them on top. If two Alberta players are one too many for you, a Flame plus a Capital, a Flyer, a Ranger or a Jet gets you Sunday instead.
If you'd rather build it one night at a time, here's how my picks line up:
- MON - Zayne Parekh, Devin Cooley (if he gets the start), Adam Klapka, Morgan Frost, Zack MacEwen, Tristan Jarry (if he gets the start)
- WED - Ryan Leonard, Luke Evangelista, Zayne Parekh, Jamie Drysdale, Devin Cooley or Tristan Jarry (whichever gets the start), Adam Klapka, Zack MacEwen, Arseny Gritsyuk, Morgan Frost
- FRI - Luke Evangelista, Zayne Parekh, Devin Cooley (if he gets the start), Adam Klapka, Arseny Gritsyuk, Morgan Frost
- SUN - Ryan Leonard, Jamie Drysdale, Tristan Jarry (if he gets the start)
Timing matters too. Monday is a six-team night, so get your Calgary and Toronto claims in over the weekend. Wednesday is the busiest Light Night of the week for this article, with Calgary, Edmonton, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Toronto and Washington all playing. If you're using the Fantasy Roundup Automated Waiver Tool, queue the whole week now and let us handle the timing for you.
Conversely, thirteen teams have zero Light Nights in Week 5. Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Montreal, Nashville, the Islanders, Pittsburgh, San Jose, St. Louis, Tampa Bay and Vancouver round out the mids. Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay are the worst of the bunch with just two games each, both on heavy nights. If you're holding a streamer from either of those teams, they're the first players I'd drop for one of the options below.
WAIVER WHIPLASH
Ryan Leonard
If you were with me at the end of last season, you might remember Ryan Leonard as my Forward pick in Week 20. He gave you four points that week, three of them goals, and then got bumped off Washington's top powerplay unit by Pierre-Luc Dubois the following week. I called that one in the article, which is a small consolation when you're the guy who told everyone to pick him up. He's been an Honourable Mention in here twice already this season, and this week he's my Stacks' Picks cover player.
Ryan Leonard is my favourite Forward add for Week 5. He's sitting at 39% rostered, and that's going to cross 40% very soon. So, if you want him, go get him this weekend.
Leonard put up 20 goals and 25 assists in 75 games as a rookie last season, with 14 of those points on the powerplay. This year he has four goals and four assists through nine games. When he scored against New Jersey last Saturday, NHL PR pointed out that the only players 21 or younger with more points in the league were Leo Carlsson, Beckett Sennecke and Macklin Celebrini. Pretty good company for a guy sitting on waivers in six out of every ten leagues.
In his last five games, Leonard has two goals, three assists - including a powerplay point - and 11 shots on net. He also has five hits thrown in for the banger crowd. His underlying numbers are the best of any forward I looked at this week. His iCF/60 ranks 7th among all forwards, in the Stacked Analytics Elite tier, and he's Elite in iSCF/60 (37th) and xA1/60 (46th) as well. On the ice, the Capitals are tilting the rink with him out there, ranking 29th in SCF/60 and 41st in xGF/60. He's firing from everywhere and he's getting to the dangerous areas when he does it.
Now for the deployment, because that's where things get a bit messy. Capitals Head Coach Spencer Carbery has been shuffling his lines all week and Leonard's 5v5 spot has bounced around. At Friday's practice, he was listed on the fourth line with Boone Jenner and Justin Sourdif. The same day, Washington's reconfigured powerplay units were reported with Leonard on the second unit with Cole Hutson, Alex Tuch, Ilya Protas and (you guessed it) Pierre-Luc Dubois, while Ovechkin, Chychrun, Strome, Wilson and Kyrou make up the top unit. Last March I told you Dubois would take Leonard's PP1 spot. This time they're on the second unit together, and powerplay time is still powerplay time for a streamer.
The schedule fits nicely. Washington plays Philadelphia on Wednesday's Light Night, then goes to Nashville on Thursday and hosts Minnesota on Sunday's Light Night. Two of his three games land on nights when your lineup will have holes in it.
One caution. His OISH% over the last five games is 17.24, one of the highest among all forwards, so Washington has been finishing at a very high rate while he's out there. His PDO is right around average, though, so I'm not expecting a major cliff dive. You're adding Leonard for the shot and hit volume, and both of those are in good shape.
If you'd rather have a more concrete body of work, take a look at Luke Evangelista. Evangelista was my Deeper Darlings pick in Week 13 last season when he was still a Predator, and he was the star of my Week 14 Roundup. He put up 56 points last season in Nashville, 44 of them assists, and he's continued right where he left off in his first season in New Jersey, racking up three goals and three assists in seven games. He missed two games and a road trip with a fever last week, but he was back on the Devils' top powerplay unit at Tuesday's morning skate.
He went out and put up a goal, an assist and six shots against Colorado that night. Evangelista's on the second line with Timo Meier and Nico Hischier, and on PP1 with Jesper Bratt, Hischier and the Hughes brothers. His On-Ice numbers in his last five games are absurd. Among all forwards he ranks 10th in SF/60, 14th in SCF/60 and 21st in CF/60, all in the Stacked Elite tier, and his xA1/60 ranks 43rd. New Jersey plays Wednesday in Colorado and Friday in Vegas, which are both Light Nights. At just 37% rostered, I'm guessing his ownership is about to skyrocket.
Zayne Parekh
Zayne's World, Part Three. It's a trilogy now, eh?
I know, this is getting a bit old now. Parekh was my Week 1 pick at 39% rostered. He was my Week 3 pick at 29%. Last week I called him a Stacks-certified drop because Calgary only played twice, both on heavy nights. I stand by every one of those calls, including this one. A terrible Flames team and supporting cast have been most of the story with Zayne going back to last season. Nothing has changed in that regard, but at least this week the schedule is going to be flipped his way.
Calgary has four games in Week 5: Monday at home against Toronto, Wednesday in Edmonton, Friday at home against Seattle and Saturday in Colorado. Three of those are Light Nights, and no team in the league has more this week. For a PP1 Defenceman who's now down to 21% rostered, that's about as good as you can get.
Nothing about his deployment has changed. Parekh is still quarterbacking Calgary's top powerplay unit with Morgan Frost, Joel Farabee, Matt Coronato and Matvei Gridin. These are the same five I mentioned in Week 1. He played 4:20 with the man advantage in Thursday's win over Minnesota, the most of any Flames player. At 5v5 he's on the third pair with Yan Kuznetsov, averaging a little over 16 minutes a night.
The production still hasn't shown up. Zero goals and two assists through nine games, both of them on the powerplay. In his last five games he has one assist, eight shots and six PIMs. Gross.
But let's take another look at what he's doing to change his own luck. Among all defencemen over their last five games, Parekh ranks 10th in SCF/60, 14th in SF/60 and 19th in xGF/60, all in the Elite tier. Individually he's 19th in iSCF/60 and 25th in iCF/60, Elite again. The Flames are generating chances every time he steps on the ice, and he's taking plenty of them himself.
So where are the points? His OISH% over the last five games is just 3.33%. The Flames are scoring on 3.33% of their shots with him on the ice, which is the 33rd lowest mark of any defenceman in the league. Back in Week 24 last season I compared Zayne to a hungry dog caged up and ready to be let loose on a steak. The cage is wide open now, but the steak just keeps getting pulled away. When that OISH% creeps back toward 8%, and it should, I expect the production to arrive in bunches. I'd like you to be holding him when it does.
I've been early on this one twice. I'm hoping three Light Nights at 21% rostered is where early turns into correct.
If you'd rather go with a guy who's already putting pucks on net, take a look at Jamie Drysdale. Drysdale was my Defenceman pick in Week 20 last season and again in Week 2 this season, and you'll remember David Jiricek took his PP1 job a week after that. Well, the pendulum has swung back. Drysdale is quarterbacking Philadelphia's top powerplay unit again with Matvei Michkov, Trevor Zegras, Porter Martone and Denver Barkey, and he played 3:33 at 5-on-4 in Wednesday's game in Buffalo. He's averaging 23 minutes a night over his last five games, on the second pair with Nick Seeler, and he's killing penalties too. The points haven't come, with one assist in 12 games, but he has nine shots and nine blocks in his last five, and his ixG/60 ranks 26th among all defencemen. The Flyers play Wednesday in Washington and Sunday at home against Utah, both Light Nights. Keep an eye on Rick Tocchet's powerplay units as always, because he loves to shuffle them. Drysdale is 4% rostered.
The NHL goalie is quite possibly the most unpredictable position in all of sports. While there are some studs in the NHL, all goalies are fallible. Goalies are voodoo, as they say. Considering this, I am not here to recommend a goalie for any particular reason other than they could have a good schedule, they could be on a good team, or I just like the way they play and think they have potential to produce good numbers. Take anything I say about goalies with a grain of salt, but know I have done research into them and I am recommending in good faith. This week's voodoo comes with a trade. Connor Hellebuyck is rostered in 97% of Yahoo leagues, so he was never going to be a waiver pickup, but his arrival in New Jersey changes two goalie depth charts. In New Jersey, Jake Allen (36% rostered) goes from a tandem 1A to a backup the second Hellebuyck is game-ready. Helle hasn't played since April and hasn't practised in an NHL environment, so I wouldn't be shocked if he gets a conditioning stint in the American League before being called up to the Show. Allen may hold the net for a bit longer, but his days as a streamer are numbered. If Allen is on your roster as a stream, I'd drop him for one of the goalies below this week and not look back. In Winnipeg, Nico Daws walks into a crease that has belonged to Stuart Skinner by default since the standoff began. Daws was splitting starts in New Jersey, so keep an eye on how the Jets divide their four games this week. Skinner's days as THE guy in Winnipeg might be numbered too.
Devin Cooley
Devin Cooley has been in my articles more times than any other goalie. He was my Goalie pick in Week 10 last season, back when he was Dustin Wolf's clear backup and sitting at an 8-3-3 record with a 0.920 SV%. He was my Goalie pick again in Week 21, when he ranked 1st among all goalies with 23 games played in GSAx/60. And finally, in Week 1 of this season, I called him the analytics play behind Tristan Jarry, with the caveat that he'd probably only get one start. Four weeks later, Cooley finds himself the better half of a tandem with Dustin Wolf, coming out ahead in a small sample to start the year.
Devin Cooley is my Goalie pick for Week 5, and for once, the starts and the analytics are pointing the same way.
Start with what's happened in Calgary. Wolf opened the season as the starter and has been shelled repeatedly. He's 1-4-0 with a 0.834 SV% and has allowed 24 goals in five starts. Just brutal stuff there.
Cooley took over against Carolina last Sunday and stopped 34 of 36 in a win. Flames Head Coach Ryan Huska went right back to him on Thursday against Minnesota, and he stopped 36 of 37 in another win. He's started Calgary's last two games, and I expect him to start the next two as well.
Calgary's schedule is why this works for me. The Flames play Monday at home against Toronto, Wednesday in Edmonton and Friday at home against Seattle, all three on Light Nights, before a Saturday game in Colorado to close the back-to-back. Wolf will likely get one half of that back-to-back, and if I had to guess, it'll be Seattle. That leaves Cooley with at least two and possibly three starts, and every one of them should land on a night when your other goalies are idle.
His recent numbers back it up. Over his last five games, Cooley ranks 14th among all goalies in HDSV% at 0.871 and 18th in HDGSAx/60, both in the Stacked Analytics High tier. His overall GSAx/60 and SV% sit in the middle of the pack, but that five-game window still includes a seven-goal night against Colorado on October 8th when the Flames were a complete disaster. They've since tightened things up and sit 20th in my Stacked Analytics Power Rankings, after being bottom five out of the gate.
Last season Cooley was quietly one of the best backups in the league, with a 0.909 SV% in 31 games, ranking 2nd out of 70 goalies in GSAx/60. As I said last season in Week 21, I would love to see what this guy can do with league-average goal support. Calgary still isn't giving him that, but at 4% rostered with three Light Night starts on the table, I'll take my chances.
If you'd rather ride the hottest team in the league, look at Tristan Jarry in Edmonton. Yes, that Jarry. My Week 1 pick who gave up six on opening night. The Oilers are 8-1-1, good for the best record in the NHL, and they've got the same four-game, three-Light-Night schedule as Calgary: Monday at home against Detroit, Wednesday at home against the Flames, then a Saturday-Sunday back-to-back against the Islanders and the Rangers.
Oilers Head Coach Mike Babcock has been alternating Jarry and Devon Levi. Jarry is 2-0-1 in his three starts since that opener, and may get a couple extra with Levi announced as unavailable for the Oilers' game on Saturday against the Maple Leafs. His advanced numbers are still in the Low tier across the board, so you're adding him for the wins that come with playing behind McDavid and Draisaitl. At 13% rostered, you could probably do worse.
If you're the type who likes a comeback story, Dustin Wolf is 24% rostered and plays the same schedule as Cooley. His last five games are in the Poor tier in every category I track, so you'd be betting entirely on his name value and the schedule. If you want, you can run the Calgary tandem, but I'm not doing that. Cooley's my pick, but it's your roster.
BANGER BEASTS
Adam Klapka
Are you ready to Klapka those cheeks... again?
Last season I said I can never NOT recommend Adam Klapka on a hot schedule, and I still mean it. He was my Banger Beasts pick in Week 16, when he gave you all the hits you asked for plus a goal, an assist and a few love taps on Tom Wilson from the bench. This is the third time I'm featuring Adam Klapka as my Banger Beast, and he deserves it.
Adam Klapka is one of the most complete bangers I've recommended this season. Last year he threw 295 hits in 79 games, with 51 blocks and 112 PIMs on top. That's almost four hits a game from a mutant who plays ten and a half minutes a night. This season he's on the same pace. In his last five games, Klapka has 15 hits, five blocks and five PIMs.
What separates Klapka from the Hathaways and Trenins of the world is that he can actually score. He has two goals and an assist through nine games, and he's the net-front presence on Calgary's second powerplay unit with Simon Nemec, Yegor Sharangovich, Ryan Strome and Aydar Suniev (...who?). Over his last five games, his iCF/60 ranks 52nd among all forwards and his Shots/60 ranks 91st, both in the High tier. You don't see a fourth-liner shoot that much very often. Add in a Hits/60 that ranks 33rd and a Blocks/60 that ranks 20th, both Elite, and you've got a 6'8", 235-pound unicorn.
He's on Calgary's fourth line with Brennan Othmann and Jonathan Castagna at 5v5, so don't expect much, but I think there's untapped potential with Klapka and would love to take a chance on him in a good week. Monday against Toronto, Wednesday in Edmonton and Friday against Seattle are all nights when your other bangers will likely be sitting. Four games from Klapka should mean somewhere around 12 to 16 hits, a handful of blocks and PIMs, and a real chance at a point or two. One warning from experience: he was a healthy scratch on the Monday Light Night the last time I picked him in Week 22, so check the Flames' warmup lines Monday afternoon before you lock him in. At just 2% rostered, he should be readily available in most leagues.
If you need a pure hitter and don't care about anything else, look at Zack MacEwen in Toronto. MacEwen has 13 hits and 19 PIMs in his last five games, including a 17-minute night in Columbus on Tuesday. His Hits/60 of 25.10 ranks 11th among all forwards. The catch is that he plays under seven minutes a night on the Leafs' fourth line with Brandon Duhaime and Teddy Blueger. He's also only played a grand total of 24 NHL games in the last two seasons, so there's no track record to lean on. But what he does have is a good Light Night schedule. Toronto plays Monday in Calgary and Wednesday in Seattle before a Saturday clash in Vancouver. If your league counts PIMs, he's a 0% rostered flyer that fits the week.
DEEPER DARLINGS
Arseny Gritsyuk
Arseny Gritsyuk is my Deeper Darlings pick for Week 5, and I'm a little annoyed at myself for not pulling the trigger sooner. Gritsyuk has scored in four straight games since I mentioned him at the bottom of the Deeper Darlings Honourable Mentions in my Week 3 article. Since then, his roster percentage has shot up from 1% to 8%, so the people are definitely starting to catch on to him.
He has five goals and two assists through ten games, and he's scored in each of New Jersey's last four: against the Rangers, in Washington, against Colorado and against Anaheim on Thursday. In his last five games he has four goals, an assist and 15 shots on net.
The deployment is what pushed him from a mention in passing to a bonafide pick. Gritsyuk is on the Devils' top line with Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt, and he's on the second powerplay unit with Dougie Hamilton, Timo Meier, Evan Rodrigues and Anthony Mantha. With Dawson Mercer off to Winnipeg in the Hellebuyck trade, there's one less forward in front of him for powerplay time, too. A 25-year-old on a line with Jack Hughes, available in 92% of leagues, is exactly what this section is for.
His On-Ice numbers over the last five games are the best of anyone in this article. Among all forwards, he ranks 12th in xGF/60, 13th in SCF/60, 20th in CF/60 and 32nd in SF/60, all in the Elite tier. Individually he's 33rd in Shots/60, also Elite, and his xA1/60 of 1.32 ranks 13th among all forwards. That xA1/60 is the one that sold me. He's finishing right now, but he's also creating the best looks on a line with one of the best playmakers in the league, so the points should keep coming even when his own shooting cools off.
Two things to keep in mind. First, his PDO over the last five games is 1.044, so he's running hot and that won't last forever. Second, New Jersey only plays three times in Week 5: Tuesday in Dallas, Wednesday in Colorado and Friday in Vegas. Two of those are Light Nights though, and once Hellebuyck is between the pipes, the Devils should be protecting more leads with the top line on the ice. Gritsyuk scored 13 goals in 66 games as a rookie last season. He's on pace to blow past that by Christmas.
If you'd rather stay in the wake of the C of Red, take a look at Morgan Frost. Frost was my Deeper Darlings pick in Week 10 last season. He's at 5% rostered now, even after putting up three goals, three assists and four powerplay points in nine games. He centres Calgary's second line between Aydar Suniev (again, who??) and Yegor Sharangovich. He's also on the top powerplay unit with Parekh, Coronato, Gridin and Farabee. Over his last five games, Frost has two goals, three assists and 12 shots, and he ranks 21st among all forwards in SF/60 and 46th in xGF/60, both in the Stacked Elite tier. Four games and three Light Nights at 5% rostered is a deep league gift horse, and you don't look those in the mouth.
