Micah Parsons Traded to the Packers: Where Do the Packers Rank in Fantasy Defense?

The Packers sent a haul for stud pass rusher Micah Parsons on Thursday August 28th. This drastically improves Green Bay’s pass rush, and in theory, should move them up in fantasy football defense rankings. But just how high will they move up? As a fantasy football defense enthusiast, I look for splash plays that increase a defense’s fantasy points. Sacks are one of them, and Green Bay was already a top 8 defense in sacks in 2024. Given Parson’s back injury magically disappears with a new big contract, I expect them to compete for the league leader in sacks. This, of course, will help the secondary cover better and even get more interceptions through pressure. While I do personally believe Parsons is semi-overrated (I know, I know), the addition of a star player to an already solid unit will help take them to a different level. For these reasons, the Packers defense has shot up from 14 in my rankings to 8.
