Two Landmines at Each Position in Week 16 Fantasy Football

Written by: William Dempsey Now more than ever it is vital that you know who you need to start or bench because the fantasy football playoffs are unforgiving and will leave you regretting your indecisiveness. So if you want the glory and boasting rights to hold that trophy at the end of the season let's lock in and show your league mates what a winning manager looks like! QB 1. Jaxon Dart (New York Giants - Quarterback) Hear me out with this one, Jaxon Dart has been one of the most consistent QB’s in fantasy football this season, and I will give him the flowers he deserves. But the Minnesota Vikings Defense plays like they really are Vikings they are strategic, ferocious and without a doubt overwhelming. They just shut down Dak Prescott, not allowing him to throw a single touchdown. So even with the elite performances we have seen lately from Jaxon Dart lets avoid him if we can. 2. Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams - Quarterback) When you think of quarterbacks in fantasy football Matthew Stafford is not the first one that would come to mind, but he is the current rank four QB in the league. This week he is a pretty easy sit, the last time he faced the Seattle Seahawks he put up a whopping 13.2 points. You start the receiving options on this team but I would try my best to stay away from Matthew Stafford this week. RB 1. Ashton Jeanty (Las Vegas Raiders - Running Back) When it comes to talent Ashton is in a tier by himself, but we aren't talking about talent here, we are talking about winning fantasy football in 2025 and unfortunately Ashton Jeanty is not going to bring you that glory. This Raiders team is a rough one to watch week after week and if you have him on your team it's even harder. With his next matchup being against arguably the best defense in the league, The Houston Texans, this might be the easiest bench so far. 2. Quinshon Judkins (Cleveland Browns - Running Back) Once again a wasted talent but this time we are looking at a young star with a decent matchup going against the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately that doesnt seem to matter when it comes to Quinshon and the Cleveland Browns. On the ground he is not efficient and to make it worse through the air he just can't get us the points we need. Maybe next year we can start him with confidence but as of right now lets chase victory and run from Quinshon Judkins. WR 1. George Pickens (Dallas Cowboys - Wide Receiver) This is definitely the most controversial so far, George Pickens has been amazing this year and that will continue to be the case, just not this week. I fear a large majority of the fantasy football community has been getting fooled with recency bias. Despite what you may believe or what you think Ceedee Lamb is still the number one guy over there. Now there are far worse options so don't feel bad if you have to start him but if you can avoid it, let's do so. 2. Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings - Wide Receiver) Let's be completely transparent, Justin Jefferson is by far the worst pick of the first round this year and that's not your fault. It hurts to bench him but I fear we have too. Even in great matchups he just hasn't produced anything and is a huge landmine that will blow up this playoff run if he hasn't already so when I say run I mean RUN! TE 1. Brock Bowers (Las Vegas Raiders - Tight End) It seems every year we get fooled by a tight end being amazing the previous season then coming into the next one struggling *Cough* Cough Sam Laporta. However Brock Bowers isn't fooling us because he isn't talented or amazing, I mean we have seen flashes this year. Though similar to Ashton Jeanty this Raiders offense is just not good and that dampens the upside of these elite players. But stick around and ill tell you who I think will be a better start and is likely on your waiver wire. Replacements QB 1. Jacoby Brissett (Arizona Cardinal - Quarterback) It wouldn't be right if I didn't give you an option to play instead of Jaxon Dart, if I could choose a streaming Quarterback it would most definitely be Jacoby Brissett. If there is one QB this year that has been consistent no matter the matchup, it would have to be Jacoby Brissett. In Fantasy Football he is averaging 20.50 points in a 4 point passing touchdown format. He is a set and forget level QB. 2. C.J. Stroud (Houston Texans - Quarterback) Once again ill give you a decent streaming option for week 16 and this time its CJ Stroud. Now CJ Stroud has been far from reliable but when your wrist is being twisted you have to make due with what you have and CJ Stroud vs. Las Vegas Raiders is a play you wouldn't mind making this week. RB 1. Devin Neal Or Alvin Kamara (New Orleans Saints - Running Back) This one I admittedly feel shaky on, and if I'm being honest Devin Neal is the better option especially if Alvin Kamara is out. If Alvin Kamara does play the ceiling is much lower for Devin Neal and Alvin moves up but only to a desperation start, I'd be much more content starting Devin Neal if Alvin Kamara does not play this week. 2. Jawhar Jordan or Woody Marks (Houston Texans - Running Back) For these two I feel the same way I feel about the Alvin Kamara and Devin Neal situation. If there is no Nick Chubb this week and Woody is healthy then I'd love starting Woody Marks in that situation. Or if Woody and Chubb aren't healthy it seems Jawhar Jordan might be a good option. WR 1. Michael Wilson (Arizona Cardinals - Wide Receiver) This feels like an easy or obvious answer but apparently only 56% of teams started him this past week. I will give you the benefit of doubt seeing as he was playing against the Houston Texans and that is a scary matchup, but any week there is no Marvin Harrison Jr. (Arizona Cardinals - Wide Receiver), Wilson seems to be a smash. 2. Luther Burden (Chicago Bears - Wide Receiver) Luther Burden was a great prospect coming into the year and we had high hopes for him. What some failed to realize is that the Chicago Bears offense has so many different options and he was in a crowded room. However if there is no Rome Odunze (Chicago Bears - Wide Receiver), Luther seems to be a favorite of Caleb Williams, so if you need a quick fix look no further. TE 1. Colby Parkinson (Los Angeles Rams - Tight End) These last two go hand in hand, with some really scary options at tight end this week Colby might not be a bad play, and seeing as the last time he played against the Seattle Seahawks (week 11), he had a decent game scoring 9.4 fantasy points in a full ppr format. I think he can do even better this week. Plus the last four weeks he seems to have been having a bigger role in the receiving game. Averaging five targets a game and four receptions. Take a risk no one has won fantasy football being scared. 2. AJ Barner (Seattle Seahawks - Tight End) The last time AJ Barner and the great Seahawks faced off against the Los Angeles Rams, AJ had a game to remember. He had 11 targets, bringing in 10 and 70 receiving yards. Who says he can't do that again, and with this being an in division matchup for that number one position this could be the game of the week.
