Tyjae Spears did not practise Friday with a knee injury and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Cincinnati. He also missed Wednesday and Thursday sessions.
Spears cannot play this week. Tennessee's backfield now belongs to Tony Pollard, who handled 19 carries and one target on 76 per cent of snaps in Week 6 against Indianapolis, compared with Spears' one carry and one target on 24 per cent. The matchup is Cincinnati, who have allowed 15.9 half-PPR points a game to running backs, the 4th fewest of 32. Julius Chestnut and Nicholas Singleton are next on the depth chart.

Tyjae Spears
Spears managed just one carry for one yard and one catch for seven yards on one target in Week 6 against Indianapolis, logging 24 per cent of snaps and 1.3 half-PPR points. Tony Pollard took 19 carries and one target on 76 per cent of snaps that day. Spears averaged 2.6 half-PPR points over his last three games on 3.7 targets and 1.7 carries per game, though the games varied: he caught nine of nine targets for 28 yards in Week 5 against Houston but managed one reception for negative one yard in Week 4 against Baltimore.
Our models show he is scoring 1.4 half-PPR points a game below what his usage predicts over his last three games (70th of 105 running backs), so his role is worth more than his recent points. His weighted opportunity rating is 0.14 over his last three games (26th of 106 running backs). Standard and full-PPR managers should read his usage the same way. With Pollard dominating the work and Spears now sidelined, he does nothing for any fantasy lineup until cleared.
What to do
• Bench Tyjae Spears in all formats until he returns from the knee injury.
• Tony Pollard becomes a strong volume-based play against Cincinnati, though the matchup sits in the tougher half of defences against running backs.
• Julius Chestnut and Nicholas Singleton could see limited touches behind Pollard but remain off the fantasy radar.
