{"template":"baseball-two-start-ranks","subtitle":"Reviewing and ranking every two start pitching option for this week.","readTime":"","intro":"We're another week in, so some SP trends are starting to take shape. There's a lot of good two start options out there for next week, and I'm here to rank them! The tiers and explanations are below: JUST-INcredible: Aces that should be in your lineup every week JUST-INdulge: Easy starts in most leagues - don't overthink it JUST…one for me, thanks: Pitchers who I'd start for one of their games, but bench for the other start JUST-INsanity: Don't start these guys unless it's an extreme deep league desperation stream *An asterisk next to the opponent means that the pitcher is at risk of losing that start due to possible rotation adjustments based on my research, so tread lightly for those. As always, starts are subject to change after the article gets posted - sadly managers don't ask me before making rotation changes. ","tiers":[{"id":"tier-1","label":"JUST-INcredible","players":[{"name":"Paul Skenes","team":"PIT","starts":"WSH, TB","writeup":"Skenes is never leaving anyone's lineup "},{"name":"Garrett Crochet","team":"BOS","starts":"@MIN, DET","writeup":"Ditto for Crochet "},{"name":"Cristopher Sanchez","team":"PHI","starts":"CHC, ATL","writeup":"Sanchez wasn't his usual self against the Giants, but not enough for me to question his ace status "},{"name":"Bryan Woo","team":"SEA","starts":"@SD, TEX","writeup":"Woo is a certified top 10 SP "},{"name":"Cole Ragans","team":"KC","starts":"@DET, @NYY","writeup":"Some might be nervous for the @NYY start, but there's plenty of lefties for Cole Ragans to take advantage of. Despite being hit in the pitching hand last start, he should be fine for both starts next week "},{"name":"Trevor Rogers","team":"BAL","starts":"ARI, @CLE","writeup":"Rogers has continued his success this year - he belongs in the ace tier "},{"name":"Gavin Williams","team":"CLE","starts":"@STL, BAL","writeup":"Gavin has been dynamite lately and earned himself the ace tier "},{"name":"Kevin Gausman","team":"TOR","starts":"@MIL, @ARI","writeup":"Gausman has also been amazing and isn't someone to even consider benching "},{"name":"George Kirby","team":"SEA","starts":"HOU, TEX","writeup":"Kirby has been inconsistent, but for two home matchups he's still a must start for me "}]},{"id":"tier-2","label":"JUST-INdulge","players":[{"name":"MacKenzie Gore","team":"TEX","starts":"@ATH, @SEA","writeup":"Gore has been much more consistent so far on his new team. Not quite ready to call him an ace but he's on that path "},{"name":"Eury Perez","team":"MIA","starts":"@ATL, MIL","writeup":"Eury can be inconsistent with his command randomly, but the ceiling is too high to bench "},{"name":"Robbie Ray","team":"SF","starts":"@CIN, @WSH","writeup":"Don't love that both games are on the road for Robbie Ray, but he's reliable enough to not question him start to start "},{"name":"Michael King","team":"SD","starts":"SEA, @LAA","writeup":"Two solid matchups for King - easy start for both "},{"name":"Ryne Nelson","team":"ARI","starts":"@BAL, TOR","writeup":"Not the easiest matchups this week, but Ryne can still take advantage of both "},{"name":"Ryan Weathers","team":"NYY","starts":"LAA, KC","writeup":"Weathers looked great in his last start and now gets two good matchups "},{"name":"Joey Cantillo","team":"CLE","starts":"@STL, BAL","writeup":"Cantillo has looked solid so far - not scared off by the Baltimore game "},{"name":"Framber Valdez","team":"DET","starts":"KC, @BOS","writeup":"Framber had a rough start against the Twins, but he's the type of guy who you can't predict when he'll have an off night, and he's good most of the time. He's similar to Robbie Ray in that regard, where you just start every game and hope for the best. Hopefully he got his bad night out of the way last game "},{"name":"Kyle Bradish","team":"BAL","starts":"ARI, @CLE","writeup":"Haven't seen much ace upside from Bradish this year, but I'm rolling him out for both starts this week. If he flops then maybe we re-evaluate "},{"name":"Nathan Eovaldi","team":"TEX","starts":"@ATH, @SEA","writeup":"Eovaldi seemed to right the ship the last time out, so I'm choosing to trust the track record and not question him as a start this week, even with a dicey matchup @ the A's "},{"name":"Will Warren","team":"NYY","starts":"LAA, KC","writeup":"I like the matchups for Warren so I'm not gonna question it this week "},{"name":"Mike Burrows","team":"HOU","starts":"@SEA, STL","writeup":"Burrows has made some improvements, but it's still unclear what his ceiling is. Two good matchups here so I'm inclined to start for both. Hopefully he can get his first QS this week "},{"name":"Grant Holmes","team":"ATL","starts":"MIA, @PHI*","writeup":"I'm not sure how the Braves roll out their rotation next week after ReyLo's suspension. I'm assuming Grant Holmes starts Monday on regular rest and then also picks up his 2nd start next weekend. He's a start for me even @ Philly "},{"name":"Reynaldo Lopez","team":"ATL","starts":"MIA, @PHI*","writeup":"Lopez is eligible to return Tuesday, but could get a 2nd start if they go with a 4 man rotation and skip Perez. But a Jose Suarez/Didier Fuentes spot start on Monday could push Holmes to Tuesday and ruin ReyLo's two start week "},{"name":"Shane McClanahan","team":"TB","starts":"@CHW, @PIT","writeup":"McClanahan's command has definitely been off - but there's a chance he finds it this week and the matchups aren't bad. Just don't expect him to pitch long enough for a QS, so start limit leagues beware. Asterisk here as well since the potential return of Pepiot could cause Shane to lose his 2nd start "},{"name":"Jeffrey Springs","team":"ATH","starts":"TEX, CHW","writeup":"Springs has been on a roll to start the year - hopefully he keeps it going. I'd start him until he gives us reason not to "},{"name":"Mitch Keller","team":"PIT","starts":"WSH, TB","writeup":"I'm not the most trusting of Keller, but he could easily put up 2 QS next week "},{"name":"Yusei Kikuchi","team":"LAA","starts":"@NYY, SD","writeup":"Kikuchi hasn't been great so far, but the Yankees have been brutal against lefties and the Padres aren't much better. His strikeout ability should help in Yankee Stadium as well "},{"name":"Reid Detmers","team":"LAA","starts":"@NYY, SD","writeup":"Ditto for Detmers - I'd be more nervous about that Yankees matchup but they've had a tough time against lefties "}]},{"id":"tier-3","label":"JUST…one for me, thanks","players":[{"name":"Matthew Liberatore","team":"STL","starts":"CLE, @HOU","writeup":"I'll take a shot on Liberatore against Cleveland, but pass on the Houston start "},{"name":"Bailey Ober","team":"MIN","starts":"BOS, CIN","writeup":"No QS yet for Ober this year, and his lack of K upside makes me nervous for both of these games honestly - I'd sit against Boston, and if he does well at limiting hard contact, I can see starting for the Reds after. I'm just a little scarred from last year "},{"name":"Sean Burke","team":"CHW","starts":"TB, @ATH*","writeup":"Asterisk for Burke here since you never know when the White Sox will use an opener for him - honestly he's better when they do, so I'd still play him. But if he actually starts both of these games, I'd start against the Rays but sit against the A's "},{"name":"Cade Cavalli","team":"WSH","starts":"@PIT, SF","writeup":"Cavalli has been hit or miss with his command this year - I think the Konnor Griffin-led Pirates take advantage. They're top 10 in walk % this year. The Giants don't take walks and have been among the worst offenses in the league - that's a pretty safe weekend start "},{"name":"Brady Singer","team":"CIN","starts":"SF, @MIN*","writeup":"I don't really trust Singer, and the potential return of Lodolo could mess up his two start week anyway - I'd hold off and just stream the weekend start if you need it (assuming he gets it) "}]},{"id":"tier-4","label":"JUST-INsanity","players":[{"name":"David Peterson","team":"NYM","starts":"@LAD, @CHC","writeup":"Peterson has been pretty bad in his last 2 starts - and now gets some brutal matchups "},{"name":"Brandon Sproat","team":"MIL","starts":"TOR, @MIA","writeup":"The Sproat GOAT was a sleeper target for me in drafts, but it just hasn't panned out so far. The Marlins have also been red hot so I just can't risk it "},{"name":"Luis Severino","team":"ATH","starts":"TEX, CHW","writeup":"5 walks in back to back starts - the control just hasn't been there. Plus both starts are at home where he posted a 6.01 ERA last year "},{"name":"Miles Mikolas","team":"WSH","starts":"@PIT, SF","writeup":"No thanks "},{"name":"Michael Lorenzen","team":"COL","starts":"@HOU, LAD","writeup":"Never Rockies "}]}]}
