Kyle Monangai misses practice again Saturday (thumb/toe); ruled out

Kyle Monangai did not practise Saturday and has been ruled out for Monday night against Seattle due to thumb and toe injuries. He missed practice Thursday and Friday as well. Monangai has not practised since Week 4 and will miss his fourth consecutive game.

Roschon Johnson and Zavier Scott are next on the Chicago depth chart at running back. Monangai's next opportunity to return is Week 9 against Tampa Bay on November 8, pending clearance to practise. He does nothing for a fantasy lineup until he is cleared.

Fantasy impact

Player by player

Kyle Monangai

Monangai did not practise Thursday, Friday or Saturday with thumb and toe injuries and cannot play this week. Over his last three games he averaged 16.7 carries and 1.0 targets a game for 12.5 half-PPR points a game on 40 per cent of snaps and 3 per cent target share. He is scoring 1.7 half-PPR points a game below what his usage predicts over those three games, so his role is worth more than his recent points.

In Week 4 against the Jets, before the injuries, Monangai ran 30 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns and caught one pass for four yards on one target on 54 per cent of snaps for 27.5 half-PPR points. D'Andre Swift got 15 carries and two targets on 35 per cent of snaps that day, and Roschon Johnson got four carries and one target on 11 per cent of snaps. With Monangai out, Johnson and Zavier Scott take his work.

• Bench Kyle Monangai until he is cleared to return.

• Add Roschon Johnson or Zavier Scott in deep leagues where they are available.

• Monitor Monangai's practice status ahead of Week 9 against Tampa Bay on November 8.
