Kyler Murray misses practice again Saturday (hamstring); ruled out

Kyler Murray did not practise Saturday and has been ruled out for Monday night's game against Buffalo with a hamstring injury. He did not practise Thursday or Friday either. Minnesota's next quarterbacks on the depth chart are Carson Wentz and Max Brosmer.

Murray cannot play this week, so he does nothing for a fantasy lineup until he is cleared. Buffalo has allowed 19.0 half-PPR points a game to quarterbacks, the 11th most of 32. In his six games this season Murray has averaged 12.3 half-PPR points, 170.3 passing yards, 0.8 passing touchdowns and 4.8 carries a game. He is not rostered in a neutral 12-team league.

Kyler Murray

Murray averaged 17.4 half-PPR points a game over his last three games, up from 12.3 on the season, with 196.3 passing yards, 1.3 passing touchdowns and 6.3 carries a game. Week 8 against Detroit he went 17 of 29 for 210 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, adding four carries for 35 yards on 100 per cent of snaps for 19.9 half-PPR points. He is scoring about what his usage predicts (0.4 half-PPR points a game below expected over his last three games), so his points match his role.

On the season he is scoring 1.4 half-PPR points a game below what his usage predicts, so his role is worth more than his recent points. His completion percentage over expected this season is plus 2.1 (16th of 47 quarterbacks), but his EPA per attempt is minus 0.07 (31st of 47 quarterbacks). Our daily brief from 5th November said he has looked uncomfortable in the Vikings' offence and produced inconsistent QB1 output through eight games. His hamstring injury is expected to keep him out until 15th November.

What to do

• Do not start Kyler Murray this week, as he is out with the hamstring injury.

• Monitor Murray's status ahead of Week 10 for his potential return on 15th November.

• Add Carson Wentz in deeper leagues if you need a streaming option for Monday night against Buffalo.
